Columbia Business School MBA Application Deadlines
2026–2027 application deadlines. Below are Columbia Business School’s application rounds and decision dates for the class entering Fall 2027:
| Round | Application Deadline | Decision |
|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | September 9, 2026 | December 14, 2026 |
| Round 2 | January 5, 2027 | March 24, 2027 |
| Round 3 | March 29, 2027 | May 12, 2027 |
Columbia also runs an accelerated J-Term (16 months, January start) — its remaining deadline is August 13, 2026 (rolling admissions, so earlier is better).
Columbia 2026–2027 Essay Questions
Columbia asks for three short essays plus a few short answers (nearly unchanged this year, with one NEW question for international applicants):
- Essay 1 — Career Goals (500 words): your 3–5 year goals and long-term dream job.
- Essay 2 — Collaboration (250 words): a specific example of making a team more collaborative or inclusive.
- Essay 3 — Co-Create CBS (250 words): how you’d “co-create your optimal MBA experience at CBS.” Be specific.
Essay 3 is the one to nail — generic praise of CBS won’t cut it; show you understand the place and have a plan to contribute.
