MIT Sloan has released its 2026–2027 MBA application deadlines. Applications are due by 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the deadline date.

MIT Sloan Essays And Application Components

Sloan’s application is different from most MBA applications. Instead of a traditional career-goals essay, you’ll submit a short cover letter, a “world that shaped you” short answer, two video responses, an organizational chart, one recommendation, and two additional professional references.

  • Cover Letter: addressed to the Admissions Committee, 300 words or fewer, excluding address and salutation.
  • The World That Shaped You: “How has the world you come from shaped who you are today?” 250 words.
  • Video Question 1: introduce yourself to your future classmates, 60 seconds maximum.
  • Video Question 2: randomly generated open-ended question, 10 seconds to prepare and 60 seconds to respond.

The key is evidence. Sloan wants concrete examples of what you’ve DONE — not vague claims that you’re “innovative” or “impact-driven.”
